Teacher of Sociology/Humanities

Suitable for ECTs

Start date: September 2024

Main Scale + UPS: (London Fringe)

King Harold Academy is a school with a clear and ambitious vision: to become one of the kindest, hardest-working, highest-achieving schools in the UK. We are a 'Good' school, looking to become truly 'Outstanding'. This is a great opportunity for a Sociology and Humanities teacher to make their mark in a rapidly improving and growing school community, supported by a progressive multi-academy trust (TKAT) who value collaboration and sharing successes.

We are an oversubscribed school, with a uniquely positive and supportive staff body. Our colleagues work closely together, support one another in all aspects of their work, and believe wholeheartedly in our community vision. This feeling is palpable amongst our teaching and support staff, and we are driven by our commitment to our core values: Kindness, Hard Work, and Ambition.

From September, we are planning to dedicate up to 2 hours every week to continued professional development. We will finish earlier one day a week for focused training, so our staff can grow and develop in all aspects of their work. We also work closely with our 'Outstanding' sister school, Debden Park High School, as well as TKAT's Training and Development Network, to provide the very best opportunities for CPD.

We are looking for a determined, hard-working and ambitious Sociology and Humanities Teacher, who believes in the transformational power of excellent teaching, and is passionate about getting the best possible outcomes for children, regardless of their circumstances or starting point. As a member of our rapidly developing Humanities Department, you will take an active role in the next chapter of our success story.

Application packs can be downloaded from our website Completed application forms should be sent or emailed to Mrs Campbell at michaela.- If you would like to arrange an informal conversation with the Headteacher prior to application, please contact Mrs Campbell.

Closing date: 15th May 2024

Interviews: 20th May 2024
