Key Responsibilities of Mechanical Fitter

  • Perform planned preventative maintenance across various buildings on the site.
  • Attend to machinery breakdowns.
  • Carry out overhauls on equipment.
  • Implement remedial corrective actions.
  • Work to improve plant reliability.
  • Maintain and repair equipment at a wastewater treatment facility.
  • Manage changes and maintenance on pumps, boilers, and other related machinery.

Essential requirements of Mechanical Fitter

  • Proven experience working on process equipment i.e tanks, silos, boilers etc (repairing, removing, or assembling)
  • Hands on
  • Mechanical Qualifications (C&G, BTEC, NVQ)
  • Experience of working and maintaining with a wide variety of process machinery including Screw Conveyors, Belt Conveyors, Bearings and Couplings, Alignment, Pumps, Gearboxes, Chain drives
