Teacher of Maths & Head of Year (TLR 1a - £9,272 per annum)

Teacher of Maths

BBG Academy, Bradford Road, Birkenshaw, Bradford, BD19 4BE

Salary: MPS/UPS

Contract: Permanent

Start Date: September 2024

We currently have two exciting opportunities to join our Maths department at BBG Academy - Teacher of Maths plus Head of Year and Teacher of Maths. Both roles provide a real opportunity for you to make your mark, and as a growing Trust with an excellent reputation, there are always opportunities for career development.

BBG Academy is proud to be part of The Rodillian Multi Academy Trust. The academy is oversubscribed, has achieved significantly above average Progress 8 scores in recent years and holds an Ofsted rating of good. The Rodillian ethos of resilience, a Growth Mindset and Positive Discipline has helped to transform schools - from their culture to their Ofsted ratings – as well as the lives of students and teachers.

Here at the Trust, we are committed to doing things differently - creating schools that students want to attend, and where teachers want to work. We raise aspiration levels for staff, students and schools by encouraging creativity in the classroom, and by giving our staff freedom to experiment with their teaching, as part of our pioneering curriculum. A commitment to divergent teaching and teacher freedom provides a stimulating and varied learning environment – this principle is one of the bedrocks of our ethos. All of this is guided by our Positive Discipline policy – a traditional approach to behaviour management where discipline and respect are sacrosanct. We do not tolerate bullying, defiance or rudeness. This has made for harmonious and safe learning environments for our young people, and a supportive environment for staff.

The successful candidate will enjoy access to high quality CPD. You will also be joining a happy Trust where 95% of colleagues agreed that they enjoy working here and 92% would recommend us to a friend or colleague (taken from 2022 staff wellbeing survey). Our commitment to staff wellbeing means we prioritise staff mental health, drive down unnecessary workload and support our colleagues to progress in their careers. Furthermore, our Admissions Policy states that the children of Trust colleagues can attend our academies, regardless of catchment area. You can therefore benefit from the certainty of your children being able to access a high quality education.

We welcome you to come and visit the academy. Please contact Karen Marshall, PA to the Head of School at to arrange a visit.

The Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff, volunteers, contractors and visitors to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be required to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure check by the Disclosure and Barring Service and other statutory checks.
