The Prospect Trust is a leading Multi-Academy Trust in the South of England, with an aim of providing outstanding education for all learners within a family of local academies. There are currently three academies within the Trust: The Sixth Form College Farnborough, Tomlinscote School and Frimley Church of England Junior School.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Music Department within an outstanding Sixth Form College. We are seeking a proactive individual to provide an excellent level of support to both staff and students in the College.

Each accompanist is allocated approximately 20 students of all instruments. It is his/her responsibility to accompany these students in internal and external concerts, assessments, instrumental lessons and other events as and when required, and to rehearse with them as required to achieve a performance of the highest possible level. The successful candidate will also be required to accompany the weekly rehearsals for the Contemporary Voices choir (Wednesdays and the Chamber Choir (Thursdays as well as the several concerts throughout the year.

We are looking for a teacher who displays the following characteristics:

A thoughtful and self-reflective approach to pedagogy;A desire to be an outstanding practitioner;Ability to demonstrate a variety of teaching methods and musical styles;An ability to teach students covering a wide range of abilities and experiences;A passion for their instrument/voice;Excellent performance and theoretical knowledge and a desire to build on this; and anEnthusiasm for working with 16-19 year old students. In addition we are looking for a candidate who recognises the critical importance of developing our students' literacy and numeracy skills and will implement this as an integral part of their teaching. The successful applicant is expected to be flexible, not afraid to meet challenges, and innovative in their approach to teaching. Hours required: The majority of duties to be carried out within the hours of 8.30am - 4.30pm, Monday to Friday during term time plus some limited work during evenings as required for concerts and other events.

The Curriculum Area of Music

There are currently four specialist teachers in the Music department who teach Eduqas Music A level, Edexcel BTEC Music Performance and Edexcel Music Technology to over one hundred and fifty students. There are also currently thirteen specialist instrumental/vocal teachers.
