Queen's Gate is a thriving GSA day school for girls aged 4 –18 and is ideally situated in Central London to take advantage of the many educational opportunities on offer. The Junior School occupies its own buildings in Queen's Gate, close to the Senior School, with which it enjoys close links, including specialist staff and facilities. Music plays a central part in the life of the school, with many opportunities for individual lessons and performance.

We wish to appoint from September 2024 a suitably qualified Peripatetic Singing Teacher. Passion for Music, flexibility, and experience of teaching vocal lessons successfully to pupils of varying ability in both Junior and Senior Schools are all essential attributes. There are currently approximately two days of teaching available.

The job description for this role will include:

Principal responsibilities (Under the direction of the Principal and Director of Music): -

To offer vocal lessons to pupils in both the Junior and Senior Schools in accordance with the agreed timetable and agreed schemes of work and with due regard to Health and Safety regulations. You should be prepared to teach ten lessons each term. You will also be expected to complete report writing and attend the annual instrumental parents' evening in line with school policy; To participate with the Director of Music and other colleagues in the development of appropriate syllabuses, materials and schemes of work; To keep abreast of new trends and educational developments related to vocal teaching which should be used to inform your teaching; To prepare pupils for ABRSM examinations (or similar) and to be responsible for informing the Director of Music of such entries; To prepare pupils for School events such as the Carol Service or other Music concerts; To organise opportunities for your pupils to perform, for example in concerts or Assemblies; To offer appropriate clubs and activities linked to the Department to promote further interest in singing. Additional specific responsibilities To assist with the supervision of the facilities assigned to Music, including the adherence to relevant Health and Safety regulations; To keep the Director of Music informed about pupils' progress, departmental concerns, maintenance of facilities and request for equipment; To advise the Director of Music if a pupil, who is not absent from School, does not attend a lesson; To liaise with parents as appropriate to discuss a pupil's vocal progress; To attend departmental meetings (or such meetings as requested by the Director of Music). Successful applicants will also be required to produce evidence of qualifications, identity, and the right to work in the UK. Two references will be taken up, one of which will be with the most

recent employer. They will also be required to complete our Health Questionnaire.
