This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to take on a key role in maintaining and improving the school environment. The position is initially offered on a temporary basis, with the potential to transition to a permanent school caretaker role for the right candidate.
School Caretaker Responsibilities:
- Ensure the school premises are well-maintained, clean, and secure at all times.
- Carry out minor repairs and maintenance tasks to keep the school in good working order.
- Oversee the opening and closing of the school, ensuring all safety and security procedures are followed.
- Manage waste disposal and recycling systems efficiently.
- Assist with setting up rooms and spaces for school events and activities.
- Monitor and order cleaning supplies and maintenance materials as needed.
- Liaise with contractors and service providers for larger repairs or maintenance tasks.
- Respond to any emergencies or urgent issues promptly and effectively.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.
About You:
- Previous experience as a school caretaker, maintenance, or facilities management role, preferably within a school or educational setting.
- A proactive, can-do attitude with a strong work ethic.
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
- Basic DIY skills and a practical approach to tasks.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
