Visiting Music Teacher in Singing

Northwood, Greater London, United Kingdom Northwood College Full time

The role:

Northwood College requires an outstanding peripatetic teacher to join our thriving Music Department within a highly successful girls' school.

The successful candidate will be comfortable teaching students across the Junior and Senior Schools and will be interested in developing the role within the wider Music Department. We would expect teachers to be prepared to help promote their instrument and play an active role within the Music department. The ability to offer theory or aural classes or to play the organ would be an advantage.

The post holder will be engaged on a self-employed basis and will be expected to be available for at least a full day per week, term time only. They will be responsible for creating their own timetable to ensure weekly lessons of 30-minutes are taught to their pupils. The role is estimated to involve between half a day and a full day or two of teaching, depending on numbers. We would hope and expect this to grow in due course. Candidates will ideally be on the DBS Update Service.

Northwood College for Girls is an independent, academically selective day school for approximately 840 girls aged 3-18. We aim to foster success, endeavour, creativity, a spirit of enquiry and strength of mind. Northwood College believes, with a passion, that every day at school should be a fulfilling and enriching experience within a happy, considerate community.

We have a busy, active and ambitious Music Department which runs a host of orchestras, choirs and other musical groups across both schools and regularly runs tours to continental Europe.
