The Role: Financial Controller

Leo Recruitment are hiring on behalf of a fractional CFO to businesses in the Cybersecurity and Fintech industries. They predominantly support startup organisations who do not require a full time CFO team during their early stages of growth.

The CFO provides expert part-time Finance Director services for business leaders who need support with improving profitability, managing budgets, developing strategic plans, making informed decisions with reports, enhancing compliance, and improving efficiency and productivity.

At the heart of their operations lies the creativity and expertise of their in-house team, equipped with a highly skilled workforce who nurture and leverage the team's collective passions and skills.

As their Financial Controller, you will work in an autonomous environment where you will be responsible for:
Supporting the Senior Leadership team in delivering strategies, performing financial modeling, and developing/maintaining annual budgets and forecasts.Overseeing accounting operations, establishing and managing statutory accounting and reporting, and creating management accounts and financial analyses.Developing project cost estimates and pricing models, updating forecasts, and providing commercial decision support, ensuring cost control.Reporting on cash position, overseeing customer invoicing and payroll, and managing cash reserves and foreign exchange.Ensuring timely tax payments, monitoring transfer pricing compliance, and managing relationships with outsourced accounting and tax professionals.Overseeing business support activities (procurement, asset tracking, insurance renewals), identifying cost-saving opportunities, and promoting process automation and ERP solutions.
To Be Successful:
You will need to have a degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field, and be a professionally qualified accountant (e.g. ICAS, ACAS) or working towards such qualifications with excellent technical accounting skills.You should have at least 5 years of post-qualifying experience in a commercial organisation with experience in delivering high-quality financial standards in accordance with accounting standards, including experience in implementing financial controls, processes, and procedures.You'll need to have previous line management experience of a multi-disciplinary team.Additional qualifications or experience in tax, sourcing funding, and implementing ERP system solutions are advantageous.
