We have a vacancy in the renal unit for a dynamic, well organised and highly motivated house keeper.

This role involves supporting the renal dialysis unit with stock control, day to day housekeeping, supporting the infections control agenda, supporting the nutritional need of the dialysis patients.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Main duties of the job

  • To support the Ward Manager in the day to day running of the Renal Unit, together with specified tasks to meet individual patient needs as determined by the Ward Manager / Deputy Ward Manager or Nurse in Charge.
  • To be responsible for general housekeeping duties within the Renal Unit.
  • To work closely with contractors and support services and monitor quality standards and rectify deficiencies in liaison with the Ward Managers

Qualification / Knowledge

Essential criteria

  • Educated to GCSE standard (grades A to C) or equivalent.
  • NVQ Level 3 in related subject or equivalent

Desirable criteria

  • Qualifications in related subjects (or working towards them) for example Food Hygiene Certificate; or Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.

Experience

Essential criteria

  • Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Experience of planning and organising daily activities across a variety of disciplines.
  • Experience of dealing with members of the public.

Desirable criteria

  • Previous experience of undertaking a Housekeeper role.
  • Experience of working for a NHS organisation.
  • Experience of working with a variety of professional groups.
  • Experience of a busy ward environment.
