This is an exciting opportunity for a Solicitor, Barrister or CILEX equivalent qualified individual to join our team in a senior legal role.

Reporting to and working with the Legal Services Manager you will head up a small friendly and committed team of legal experts primarily covering property, planning and highways law, including residential and commercial conveyancing. You will have the opportunity to use your highly developed general legal skills and excellent commercial awareness whilst providing day to day management and support to your team and handling your own varied case load.

With your significant post qualification experience, you will be confident drafting legal documents and advising on complex legal matters, in writing and verbally. These skills and the ability to build positive and lasting professional relationships with elected members, officers, via advocacy in courts, with barristers, professional bodies and members of the public. As well as having great scope to develop a significant organisational profile, you will play an important strategic role in delivering real benefits to the community through committee work, project teams and the delivery of an efficient and effective legal service.

If you have the ability to lead, influence and motivate others and embrace and deliver change including digital solutions, we would love to hear from you. Managerial experience and knowledge of the local government legal framework will be advantageous. However, our track record of developing our people means if you too share our commitment to developing yourself, we will support you too. Welsh speaking and writing skills are desirable.
