Fixed term contract until 01/08/2025

Here at the University of Gloucestershire, we study the theory of dance through practice.

Our teaching is intensely practical, with real world partnerships, projects and productions. We strive to support our students to get out into the world with the right skills to help them become visible, viable practitioners of dance in its many forms and variations.

We are proud to have created an ethos which both stretches and supports our students, challenging them to be the best possible creative dancers and practitioners they can be, in line with the University's key pillars of careers, connections and community.

We are now looking for new people to join our highly creative team: you will be teaching across our BA Dance course, engaging our students with their ever-evolving craft and the arts sector more widely. You will join a team of experts and practitioners of dance and teach on courses which are being constantly refined to bring out the best in our students.

We work flexibly, we are innovative, and we want to emulate best practice.

We need practitioners and academics with expertise in the following areas:

Commercial Dance TechniquesJazz Dance TechniquesCreating performance work/choreography

We are also interested in meeting practitioners with experience of other dance techniques.

We can offer a 1 year Fixed Term Contract, or if you have a particular specialism and only want to concentrate on that, we can employ you as a part time hourly paid lecturer, which will allow you flexibility to cover your own expertise. We want people to join our team who will bring a contemporary understanding of current practice and who can motivate and enthuse our students to be the best they can be. Your experience as a dance practitioner matters to us and teaching experience is essential. Teaching would begin in September 2024, but there is room to negotiate your start date with us.
