Lead Welder

As the Lead Welder you'll be accountable for the delivery of operational activities for cyclical and ad hoc Maintenance activities within the Heavy Workshop to include working on a variety of assets, primarily pre-heater remediation and bespoke fabrications.

You will be responsible for maintaining a proactive work environment focused on safety, quality, and timeliness of job completion.

• Undertake day to day Mechanical activities such as, welding, fitting, fabricating, Tooling/plant checks
• Lead operations in areas of specialism eg: lifting, hot works
• Assist on developing risk assessments, method statements
• Ensure permit / CP requirements are supported
• Ensure activities are in full compliance with safe Control of Operations procedures and CDM requirements
• Share, promote and facilitate technical and procedural best practise
• Represent the department on projects / initiatives
• Responsible for a working environment which ensures the achievement of all safety and environmental legislation, engineering and customer standards
• Lead on technical support to ensure the safe, efficient and cost-effective development of the workshop
• Ensure workplace standards are upheld and contribute to continuous improvement
• Demonstrate compliance with the required standards/company procedures
• Be responsible for ensuring data recording and accuracy to support accurate management and regulatory reporting

We are looking for candidates who hold any of the below qualifications or their equivalents:

• BS EN Qualification testing of welders Fusion welding and steel
• BS EN Supplementary to GD/SP/P/2
• BS EN Supplementary to CAD/SP/P/9
• BS EN Specification and qualification of welding procedures for metallic materials
