Ramsgate, Kent, United Kingdom St Lawrence College Full time

This is an opportunity for a qualified Chemistry teacher with excellent academic credentials to teach full-time within a dynamic and supportive school. The Science Department is incredibly well-resourced, in a new building, and has both subject specialists as well as those who can teach across the Sciences.

This role would suit an outstanding Chemistry Teacher with a passion for their subject and a desire to work in a thriving co-ed Boarding and Day school.

St Lawrence College has a long record of providing an excellent academic education within a supportive community. We have recently entered the High Performance Learning (HPL) Fellowship of World Class Schools and our aim is to maximise the performance of every pupil, ensuring that they leave school equipped with the knowledge, skills and qualities that will serve them well for university, the workplace and life.

The School's ongoing programme of academic development, working with High Performance Learning, is informed by a wealth of evidence that a child's intelligence is not fixed but can be grown, and that high performance in education is achievable by every pupil.

The ideal candidate will be a skilled classroom practitioner with experience of teaching Chemistry to A level and KS3 Physics, as well as being passionate about their subject and unstinting in their desire to pass on their enthusiasm to eager and receptive pupils.

All colleagues are expected to act as a pastoral tutor, attached to a day or boarding house, and should be willing to be involved with the wider life of a busy boarding and day school.

Experienced teachers are welcome to apply or, where applicable, we provide full statutory induction for ECTs and the School is also able to train new entrants to the profession. Regardless of the level of experience, a deep vocational commitment to teaching is essential.
