An exciting opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic and motivated Midwife to become part of the Aviemore Community Midwifery Team. This post is based in Aviemore and covers the Badenoch and Strathspey area including Aviemore, Grantown, Kingussie, Newtonmore, and Carrbridge. The midwives are based in the newly opened community hospital.

We look after approximately 120 women per year and cover 4 GP practices. There may be occasions when the post holder may work within the other teams in Inner Moray Firth. The successful candidate will be flexible in their approach, be a good team player and have excellent time management skills. Community experience is desirable but not essential and is suitable for Band 6 to apply. This is a full time 37.5 post fixed term contract until 10/11/2024 but other hours may be considered with a minimum of 22.5 hours.

There is an on call commitment required for the provision of a Home Birth/Domino service within the Inner Moray Firth community midwifery teams.

A Full / current driving licence and use of own car is essential for this post.

Aviemore has excellent road and rail links and Inverness airport is only 35 miles away. Based 30 miles south of Inverness which is the gateway to the Highlands and the start of the North Coast 500 which leads to stunning coastal scenery. Aviemore is a vibrant town in the heart of the Cairngorm National Park with spectacular opportunities on your doorstep, such as mountains, lochs, pine forests, and rivers presenting an unrivalled lifestyle opportunity. It is an excellent base for outdoor enthusiasts who love cycling, snow sports, paddle boarding, canoeing and Munro bagging. It is well served with excellent primary and secondary education.
