Whilst we know that we have delicious products we also know that that the key ingredient to our success is our people, and the passion we have for our brands. You could be the jammy to our dodger, party ring to our Fox's or the choc-chip to our Maryland? We knead people with innovative ideas, an entrepreneurial spirit, and the commitment to drive FBC UK to success.

We are committed to building an inclusive workforce that feels empowered to build a fulfilling and successful career. By embracing diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) we create a supportive environment for people to thrive and strive to have more positive impact.

Job description:

About the Role

As Quality Manager you will manage the site Quality Team to ensure that all manufactured products are safe, legal, and consistently meet both internal and external specifications. In this role, you will support the QFS Manager in fostering a strong quality culture across the site. This includes collaborating closely with the Operations Team to develop and implement robust corrective action plans aimed at driving continuous quality improvements.

Main Responsibilities

In this role, you will oversee all quality activities to ensure products are consistently manufactured to agreed specifications and parameters. You will lead and manage the site quality team, including handling disciplinary investigations and performance management. Maintaining a rigorous auditing program that meets the standards set by all audit bodies and ensures ongoing compliance is crucial. Collaborating with the Technical Manager and site team, you will embed a culture of continuous improvement across the manufacturing site. You will contribute to achieving site technical KPIs, ensuring alignment with quality standards. Agreeing on achievable product specifications and regularly reviewing them to ensure customer satisfaction, including during new product development (NPD) transitions, is essential. You will develop and implement robust corrective action plans to address and resolve any consumer or customer dissatisfaction. Serving as the secondary point of contact with governmental, non-governmental, and retailer bodies, you will ensure effective communication and compliance. Leading investigations into internal incidents that result in out-of-specification products and managing the recall system and its coordination will be part of your responsibilities. You will monitor and collaborate with relevant departments to maintain site hygiene standards and prevent quality or food safety issues. Reviewing and approving all customer product samples prior to dispatch is necessary. You will maintain and update the site Quality Manual as required. Coordinating site improvement meetings focused on projects and ongoing quality standards enhancement is also part of the role. Finally, you will act as the customer-facing representative during audits or specific meetings, addressing quality concerns directly.

Who we are looking for

  • Experience: Experience in a Quality Assurance function within the food industry.
  • Education: Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field.
  • Certifications:
    • Level 3 HACCP
    • Advanced Food Safety
  • Knowledge:
    • In-depth knowledge of top 5 retailer audit systems.
    • Familiarity and experience with BRC (British Retail Consortium) standards.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficient in IT systems, particularly Excel and Word.
    • Ability to use and produce pivot tables for data analysis.
