Job Description Summary

As a senior software technical leader in our department you will be responsible for leading and coaching a team of talented engineers to design and deliver complex safety-critical software for new or existing aircraft electrical power distribution systems. You will be a proven problem solver who is passionate about the ''big picture'' but who also retains an eye for detail.

Job Description

  • Technical: You will leverage your extensive software engineering experience and knowledge to lead a team of engineers to execute a robust safety critical process.
  • The work is varied and includes developing requirements, architecture, design, implementation and the verification of embedded software solutions for complex power distribution systems
  • Coaching and Teaching: You will be committed to inclusion and diversity and passionate about coaching and technically developing engineers to reach their potential.
  • Global Teams: We partner with engineering teams across the globe to create the best project outcomes by maximizing the design and support capabilities of our global teams.
  • Planning and Delivery: You will provide support to project leadership in planning activities to ensure that the technical scope is accurately captured.
  • Customer Focus: You will effectively collaborate with the customer and other engineering teams and stakeholders to understand the impact of any system changes on the software.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Previous embedded software experience working within complex system designs in an aviation, automotive or similar embedded systems development environment working to rigorous standards (e.g. RTCA DO-178B/C, DAL level A or B, or similar)
  • Previous experience in leading moderate to large team-based projects and/or providing technical direction and coaching to less experienced staff.
  • Experience of defining successful technical strategies and best practices that improve execution and team capability.
  • Proven ability to solve complex problems autonomously or as part of a cross-functional team. Experience of applying lean or similar improvement methodologies to improve team performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to document, plan, and execute programs.
