Are you an established Clinical Nurse Specialist in Diabetes / Diabetes Specialist Nurse considering a new leadership role?

We are looking for an exceptional nurse leader who is an expert in Diabetes care and has experience working as a Diabetes Nurse Specialist. This is a Health Board wide role, and is responsible for the planning and delivery of diabetes diabetes educational programmes. This will include the

ThinkGlucose educational programme across the Health Board.

The post holder will have a proven track record as a Band 7 CNS in Diabetes within the community and secondary care.

The post holder will be expected to exercise a high degree of personal professional autonomy and make critical judgments to satisfy the expectations and demands of the role.

Main Duties Of The Job:

  • At this level the post holder is expected to work as a highly skilled specialist nurse and to have expert knowledge in order to lead on the implementation and evaluation of specialist diabetes focused education and training.
  • The post holder will be responsible for leading and coordinating audits and evaluations into the delivery and effectiveness of the training program, write and contribute to reports on effectiveness of the programme to Executive Board members when required
  • They will provide highly specialised professional advice, consultancy, clinical expertise and leadership to patients, carers and Health Board staff.
  • They will demonstrate advanced skills and competences to directly influence the delivery of programmes of care across the full range of care providers across the organisation
