We are committed to delivering a safe and reliable train service, by investing in our fleet of trains, stations and employees. As part of this investment we are looking to recruit a Prosecutions Officer on a full-time, permanent basis, based in Milton Keynes

You will ensure a consistently high level of well focused prosecutions activity in order to minimize levels of ticket less travel and identify revenue at risk.

What does the job involve?

  • Responsible for the chasing of debts that are produced by on train staff and the recovery of such monies with referral to court room activity if required.
  • Revenue collection targets
  • Responsible for issued ticket equipment to staff of the Prosecutions and Debt Recovery Department
  • Responsible for monies collected
  • Production of required reports
  • Promote the beliefs and goals of the Company in order to deliver customer service excellence.
  • Always work within the limit of your own authority and in accordance with all the applicable regulations, for which you have received the required training.
  • Adhere to the safety requirements as specified in the Safety
  • Responsibility Statement and ensure that you comply with all Health and Safety legislation, responsible to your position and contained in your SRS upon which you have been briefed and trained.
  • Manage the courtroom activity.
  • To lead, direct, and ensure the efficient utilization of your team members. Issue/recover and forward internal communications i.e. Retail/Safety publications, Sickness and LOD forms etc.
  • Provide training and coaching of team members.
  • Your primary role is to ensure that you and your team undertake prosecutions and collect revenue through West Midlands Trains Unpaid Fare Notices, Travel Irregularities and the courts.
  • You may be required to work with other TOCs staff at stations where West Midlands Trains operate services and will do so in the capacity of a West Midlands Trains Manager.
  • During unplanned disruption to West Midlands Trains services you will be expected to keep customers informed of developments to the best of your ability by working with the station staff to provide such information as is available or by working with the traincrew if you are on a train that is being delayed.
