Head of Design Technology (Secondary Phase)

St Mary Magdalene's secondary phase opened in September 2016 and provides a total of 900 places for students aged It also offers a sixth form provision which opened in September 2021, providing 150 places for students in Year 12 and then in September 2022 offered a further 150 places for students in Year 13.

We are seeking to recruit a motivated, passionate and committed Head of Design Technology from September 2024 in order to promote the highest achievement possible. We are looking for someone who is committed and innovative with experience of improving results across the department. The department is well-resourced with bespoke rooms for Graphic Design, Product Design and Food Preparation and Nutrition. There is opportunity to grow the department further and develop Textiles.

Product Design and Food Preparation and Nutrition are popular subjects at GCSE. We also currently offer Product Design and A Level. This post would suit an existing subject leader or a suitably experienced teacher of any of the DT disciplines who wishes to make their first move into middle leadership.
