The music service in Renfrewshire provides tuition to over 1900 young people in Renfrewshire Schools.


We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated music instructor with a specialism in brass to teach groups of learners in Renfrewshire Schools. In addition, you will be required to take an active role in leading and supporting our ensemble programmes in schools and at a Local Authority level.

Hours and work pattern are commensurate with SNCT 11.

Candidates are required to have a Degree in a recognised music course and should have a working pedological knowledge of all instruments of the brass family.

It is also essential you are capable of working independently and as part of a team and able to organise and manage classes and resources to achieve safe, orderly, purposeful activities and be able to communicate course and lesson aims to children and young people.

Applications are particularly welcomed from candidates who can demonstrate experience of working in schools with children and young people and are able to share details of their successful approaches to learning and teaching.

Please note this post is temporary subject to business needs and funding until June 2025, or until the requirement for this post ceases, whichever date is the sooner.

If successful, you will be required to undertake a Disclosure Scotland check, the level of check will be determined by the duties of the post.
