ASCape is seeking a trustee with financial or accounting experience to join us at an exciting time of organisational growth.
ASCape is the only charity of its kind dedicated to improving the lives of Autistic children and young people in West Dorset. Founded in 2018, we support over 100 children through a range of family-based activities in Bridport and the surrounding area.
What to expect from being a Trustee
Trustees are voluntary, unpaid positions and accountable to the Charity Commission. As a member of the Board of Trustees, you will be expected to attend 4-6 scheduled Board meetings per year (approximately four hours per meeting including preparation time). Should you also choose to join a committee or working group of the Board, this will involve an additional time commitment.
As a Trustee, your role is to ensure that the organisation complies with charity law, develops and implements an appropriate and effective strategy, and sets and keeps to a suitable budget. With your fellow trustees, you are responsible for appointing key staff and monitoring their performance.
ASCape is a small organisation and you will be part of a dedicated team of trustees and staff committed to improving the lives of autistic and socially anxious children and young people in West Dorset.
We recognise the positive value of diversity, promoting equity and celebrating inclusion. We welcome and encourage applications from people of all backgrounds including people with a diagnosis of an autistic spectrum condition (ASC) or who have a lived experience of autism.
All successful applicants will be subject to a full DBS check.
