Plant Operative
Salary – £27,185.60 per annum (plus benefits)
Hours – 40 hours per week, Between 7am & 8pm
Location Postcode – PL19 0NN

As a Plant Operative at FCC Environment, you ensure the safe and efficient operation of the mobile plant.

This vacancy is for a full-time position, working 5 days per week and Saturdays after bank holidays , however, we will consider requests for job shares to suit your lifestyle (working full days).

What will you be doing?

  • To operate mobile plant in a safe and efficient manner, in accordance with Group policies and procedures.
  • Completing daily start up inspections of mobile plant. Recording results on the inspections sheets and informing the site supervisor of any defect.
  • Ensuring mobile plant is kept is a clean condition by washing down regularly.
  • Undertaking light maintenance of machines including greasing as per machine specifications and clearing debris on a regular basis and in accordance with company safe working practice.
  • Ensuring good housekeeping within the work area throughout the day and at the end of the day.
  • Enforcing traffic management.
  • Ensuring that customer vehicles are tipped in line with turnaround time requirements.
  • Loading vehicles as required for the onward transportation of waste.
  • Ensure waste being loaded is rotated to ensure that it does not excess the maximum storage limitation as set out in the site permit and fire prevention plan.
  • Liaising with other site staff regarding the movement of waste.
  • Liaising with supervisor to ensure that waste is moved efficiently and as required.
  • Monitoring fuel usage and reporting to site supervisor when resources are running low.
  • To assist customers wherever safe, practical, and necessary.
  • To report to the Site Manager any breach of rules, act of dishonesty, malpractice, or corruption by any member of the public, visitor to the site, or member of staff.
  • To undertake any other duties reasonably requested by FCC management, including working at other sites, and assisting with recycling.
