We provide the repairs and maintenance service in approx. 4,500 Dover District Council properties, Services provided: Responsive repairs, Voids, Disabled adaptations, External and major work and Kitchens and bathroom refurbishments.

About the Role:

As a Groundworker you will be working alongside Dover District Council providing a stable and profitable contract, delivering excellent service and support through our local teams, who understand the importance of working together for the local community.

A groundworker's role is multifaceted and essential in the construction industry. You will be responsible for site preparation, excavation, and groundwork. This includes tasks such as clearing debris, digging, interpreting construction drawings, laying pavements, and carrying out concreting work. Your contribution ensures a solid foundation for successful construction projects.

Role Criteria:

  • Teamwork: Groundworkers collaborate effectively within a construction team.
  • Safety Awareness: Prioritizing safety while working under pressure.
  • Physical Stamina: Endurance for various weather conditions and demanding tasks.
  • Hands-On Experience: Familiarity with construction tools, gained through apprenticeships or similar roles.
  • Basic Numeracy Skills: Useful for measurements and calculations.
  • Enthusiasm and Hard Work: A positive attitude is essential.
  • UK Full Driving License: is essential for groundworkers. It allows them to commute to work and travel between construction sites efficiently
  • Own Hand and Power Tools: Providing their own tools.

All our roles require candidates to have the entitlement to work within the UK, Mears does not currently offer visa sponsorship.
