Our School

More House School is a leading Catholic independent senior school for girls in the heart of Knightsbridge, where we celebrate diversity in our pupils and staff. As a small school, we foster strong relationships within our community and as a result, staff tend to stay with us long-term.

The school is ideally located on Pont Street, within easy reach of Knightsbridge and Sloane Square tubes, with many wonderful shops, restaurants, galleries, museums and theatres on our doorstep. We recently celebrated fifty years on the present site, having moved from Cromwell Road in 1971.

Class sizes are small, teaching allocations are realistic and staff wellbeing time is offered to each member of staff every term. All school staff are provided with tea and coffee, break-time snacks and a three-course lunch in the school dining room. Departments are encouraged to develop their own feedback policies that support student progress whilst being time efficient and there is one data drop at the end of each term.

The Role of Head of Geography

More House School is seeking to appoint an outstanding Head of Geography from September 2024. We seek to appoint an enthusiastic leader with a real passion for promoting the importance of Geography at GCSE and A-Level and who is committed to balancing the support and challenge of all students.

To lead this highly successful department, the ideal candidate will be a well-qualified graduate and an ambitious and inspirational professional with a proven track record.

The successful candidate will have an excellent understanding of recent innovations in teaching and learning, a secure knowledge of GCSE and A Level curricula and relevant experience in terms of involvement in the co-curricular life of the school.

A highly competitive salary is available, together with a clear programme of staff development and opportunities for promotion.

This is an exceptional opportunity to lead the strategic direction and development of the department from September 2024.
