Job Description

The Federation of Holy Name and St Francis Catholic Schools are looking to appoint a Deputy Head Teacher for the St Francis site to cover maternity leave beginning Monday 23rd September 2024 (or if preferred 1 st September 2024) to Friday 23 rd May 2025 or the return of the post holder, whichever is soonest.

As the school is part of a federation the Deputy Head Teacher is responsible for the day to day running of the school for at least half of the week meaning this is an excellent opportunity for anyone seeking management experience. The role includes a three day teaching commitment.

We are looking for a candidate who

  • Shows understanding of Catholic Ethos of the school
  • Is an excellent classroom practitioner
  • Has excellent behaviour management skills
  • Has strong ICT skills
  • Can demonstrate commitment to continuous improvement and the raising of achievement
  • Is committed to inclusion, diversity and wellbeing; and the influence of these on pupil outcomes
  • Is an excellent communicator who can engage effectively with children, parents, staff and governors
  • Able to build on existing relationships and develop new ones within the schools, diocese, local authority and wider parish communities
  • Has high expectations of themselves, colleagues and learners

Agreement for the secondment is needed from your current head teacher prior to application.
