About the Role
The Cancer Research UK Cancer Prevention Trials Unit (CPTU) specialises in research to advance cancer prevention, early diagnosis and screening. We perform research on efficacy, cost-effectiveness, and technologies to improve existing and establish new screening programmes.
We are recruiting a Data Analyst to join our team working on an exciting large-scale national project, BEST4, funded by Cancer Research UK and National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR). The overall aim of the BEST4 Trial is to investigate the effectiveness of utilising a capsule sponge test in reducing the number of deaths caused by oesophageal cancer (OAC).
You will be responsible for leading data management activities for BEST4, which is due to commence in 2024.
About You
As a valued member of our team working on the groundbreaking BEST4 project, we are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Data Analyst who shares our passion for advancing cancer prevention research. You will interpret and analyse data received to generate illustrations and visualistions of the project data that can be easily understood in reports for key stakeholders. You will be responsible for all data management activities around participant invitations and appointment bookings.
About the School/Department/Institute/Project
The Wolfson Institute of Population Health (WIPH) is an exciting and dynamic environment, home to 400 staff, 91 PhD students and more than 500 postgraduate taught students. It harnesses expertise across a wide range of population-based research and education activities and aims to be an internationally recognised centre of excellence in population health, primary care and preventive medicine. The Institute is organised into five separate research centres which, though complementary and following the Institute strategic plan, also have Centre-specific objectives and requirements.
The Centre for Cancer Screening, Prevention and Early Diagnosis (CCSPED) brings together globally leading researchers focusing on cancer prevention, cancer screening and detection and early diagnosis across two units. CCSPED also hosts the cross-cutting Cancer Behavioural Science group and the CRUK-funded Cancer Prevention Trials Unit (CPTU, Director, Sasieni).
