WHAT TO EXPECT
You will be working with our Water Ingress Test Engineers supporting their work in delivering water ingress tests to support the product development engineer.
As a Senior Technician, you will need to be aware of the facility's capabilities and how to prepare vehicles for test and support the engineer in delivering the operation effectively.
You will be responsible to stand in for the Test Engineer when not available to maintain the operations of the facilities with support from the wider team if necessary.
You will assist with the general maintenance and upgrades to facilities and use all opportunities to further your knowledge of facility operation and test techniques.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
Supporting the test Engineer in the operation of the Water ingress test facilities up to and including periods of facility operation when the test engineer is not available.
Supporting the test Engineer operating water ingress test facility and assisting with wade test, car wash, jet wash, and monsoon testing of the full vehicle or system
Assisting in the troubleshooting of instrumentation and rigs.
Able to acquire necessary data and have base understanding of data integrity checks.
As part of a local team demonstrate ownership of test facility to which you are aligned - cleanliness, start-up, shutdown, preventative maintenance, vehicle setup, logging utilisation, setting up and de-prep, conduct testing safely and without error.
Interacting with our Engineering team to deliver high-quality test results.
Lead the preparation of the test property and de-prep test vehicles, in conjunction and support of the facility Test Engineer.
Work in all ways to ensure safe operation and complying with H&S and quality guidelines and best practices.
Although this role primarily operates on a day shift, you must be prepared to work overtime at the weekend, and sometimes work at night to support projects when required.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
A practical hands-on approach of vehicle preparation and installation.
Level 3 / 4 certification in Automotive, Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering
An appreciation of water ingress, body sealing, fluid mechanics, and aerodynamics, most importantly a willingness to learn new skills, we are looking for people that want to develop their career.
Background understanding of instrumentation, calibration requirements.
Good attention to detail and communication skills.
Active approach to problem-solving.
Collaborating with engineers on correlation and validation testing.
Conversant and reasonable proficiency in I.T. skills, Word, Excel etc.
System engineering knowledge.
