Locum Childcare Lawyer – Predominantly Remote Working – up to £55 per hour umbrella – 3 Months – Home Counties

Position: Locum Childcare Lawyer

Organisation: Home Counties based Local Authority

Duration: 3 months initial contract with the likelihood of extension thereafter

Working Pattern: Full time however candidates with part time availability possessing relevant experience will also be considered.

Working Arrangement: Predominantly remote working, occasional office and Court attendance one/three times a week (depending on caseload)

Hourly Rate: £55 per hour umbrella

Skill level: Qualified Solicitor/Lawyer, Barrister

Duties may include:


• Managing a busy and varied caseload of 8-10 Childcare cases to include all pre-proceedings


• Advising at LPM and PLO meetings


• Performing own advocacy


• Advising client departments on complex issues concerning Childcare law


• Providing Childcare Public Law advice and undertake all aspects of Care Proceedings work


• Attending and advise at meetings across the County attended by professionals, particularly Legal Planning Meetings and PLO meetings and other similar meetings as directed by the Principal Lawyer and/or Assistant Chief Legal Officer
