Holmer Green is a popular 11 to 18 school with 1000+ students (150+ in the Sixth Form) and is expanding. As a school we are in the top 10% of schools nationally for KS4 progress and in the top 5% of schools nationally for KS5 progress. We have a range of modern facilities and equipment including: laser cutter, 3D printer, and brazing hearth.
We can offer 8 staff training days (not the 5 you find in most schools), a two week October half term, professional development of a high standard. We take our staff well-being seriously and offer weekly activities, like team sports. Holmer Green Senior School is offering an exceptional opportunity to work in a high achieving and energetic Department that has recently helped secure the Platinum Artsmark Award.
The successful candidate will have the ability to teach Design and Technology at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, and Construction at Key Stage 4, including the opportunity to teach A level Product Design. You will be passionate about your teaching, committed to working together, and have high expectations for your pupils.
Candidates should have working knowledge of CAD/CAM software, be confident working in a workshop with a range of machinery and different construction techniques. The department has the support of a technician and excellent ICT facilities. It is well-resourced as newly built just a few years ago. The successful candidate will join a strong, supportive team. All our DT classes are small and are taught in line with H&S needs.
