About You


We have opportunity for a full-time Study Programme Tutor in Sport to join our partnership site at Stalybridge Celtic Football Club.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as we are expanding our sports provision.


The successful candidate will join our team of professionals delivering inspirational programmes of learning that engage and motivate young people to progress and achieve.


As a Sports Tutor, you will be responsible for managing and delivering diverse learning opportunities for groups of learners from initial interview and assessment through to successful completion of course and qualification accreditation.

You will teach, support and guide a cohort of learners across the academic year to successfully achieve a level 3 qualification in sport and physical activity.

You will deliver learning opportunities that are developmental and engaging, whilst also supporting their employability and social skills.

Learners who require it, will also complete qualifications in English and maths up to GCSE level, receiving additional face-to-face teaching from our in-house English and maths team.


Working with one of our partner sites, you will also work closely with the club on a day- to-day basis, providing effective communication at all times and working closely with the club coaching team who will provide weekly timetabled football coaching and training sessions for the learners.

About the Role


The Sports Tutor role would perfectly suit someone who has experience of working with young people or who is looking to share their knowledge and experiences with the next generation in order to support them to achieve their life goals.


Possessing teaching and assessing qualifications, you must be able to work both independently and as part of a wider team.

A strong sense of purpose and a passion for teaching and training is a must, along with the ability to use your initiative and work to set deadlines.

You must possess a keen interest in sport and fitness. A good understanding and interest in football is beneficial, altough not essential.

You will also be able to:

  • Plan and deliver diverse and innovative teaching, learning and assessment opportunities to achieve the highest academic standards and learning opportunities for learners (including functional skills maths and English).
  • Ensure learning, teaching and assessment programmes take account of the latest developments in subjects taught and evaluate their impact on learner progress and success, ensuring that appropriate use is made of ICT.
  • Provide pastoral and tutorial support within the framework of support designed by the organisation to support individual learner support, progress and achievement.

You will also have:

  • PGCE/Certificate in Education or Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training
  • Qualified to a minimum level 3 in Sport / Pyhsical Education.
