Rotherham School Admissions Appeals Service is seeking to build a team of dedicated casual clerks to support our school admissions appeals service.

As a Casual School Admission Appeals Clerk, you will have the opportunity to work closely with appeal panel members, schools, and parents/carers, providing essential procedural and administrative support during school appeal hearings.

As a member of our dedicated team, you'll be responsible for:

  • Providing professional clerking service at school admission appeal hearings.
  • Offering timely advice to appeal panels on procedural, legal, and constitutional matters.
  • Ensuring excellent customer service and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Adhering to administrative protocols and data protection requirements.
  • Producing and distributing agenda and papers for hearings efficiently.
  • Recording detailed notes during hearings, including panel deliberations and decisions.
  • Sending out decision letters to parents accurately and within government timescales.
  • Maintaining an up-to-date database of hearing results.
  • Ensuring compliance with regulations and admissions law during hearings.
  • Providing advice and guidance to the panel on statutory policies and responsibilities.
  • Working flexible hours to meet demands and legal deadlines.
  • Attending training sessions to stay updated on legislation.
