WeFlex is at the vanguard of the electric vehicle revolution. As a pioneer in providing ride-hailing drivers (Uber, Bolt, FreeNow etc) with access to a sustainable future, we are looking for a Financial Controller to join our fast-paced and expanding team.

WeFlex is an EV retailer and vehicle finance provider, plus we provide bundled products including insurance, charge cards, service plans etc. WeFlex is profitable and we have raised institutional debt financing in the multiple millions:

Your expertise in finance will not only drive our company's economic growth but will also support our commitment to decarbonising the taxi and ride-hailing industry. With a year-over-year growth of 60% for the last two years, this role is critical in managing our ascent in the electric vehicle space.

Your Role: As Financial Controller, you will partner with the executive team to craft and execute robust financial strategies. Your insights will ensure precision and efficiency, shaping the financial landscape of our company. You'll manage a dynamic finance team, both onshore and offshore, driving technological integration into our financial operations to enhance agility and inform decision-making.

You will be the second most senior person within the finance function and deputise for the CFO in his absence. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in a fast-paced, scale-up environment and will adopted a detailed approach, with the ability to support any member of the team during busy periods or absences due to holidays.

Core Responsibilities
  • As part of the Finance Leadership Team, provide direction to the broader finance team, contribute to the development of the finance function
  • Spearhead the financial operations, infusing technology and automation to streamline processes.
  • Drive the development and delivery of the Group's financial planning activities, including short and long-term plans, annual budgets and reforecasts; challenging the status quo and leading initiatives to deliver a more effective and efficient function
  • Drive the development of the finance reporting solutions, ensuring tools, analysis, models and data are delivered in order to support the wider business' needs by adopting and to support our growth trajectory.
  • Accountable for the preparation of management reports for the leadership team, the Board, investors, and debt providers, supporting analysis and insight through partnering with other functional leaders, coordinating their forecasts and controlling the overall position for the business
  • Oversee the month-end management accounts and year-end reporting processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, taking full responsibility for all Companies House filings
  • Monthly preparation and submission of VAT returns for all group companies
    • Review the monthly payroll
  • Ownership, implementation and advice on accounting policies. Review of the company's accounting policies are in line with International Financial Reporting Standards Pilot strategic initiatives to bolster profitability, maintaining a laser focus on sustainability and operational excellence.
  • Uphold impeccable standards in financial reporting and accounting standards compliance, acting as the custodian of financial integrity.
  • Cultivate and nurture relationships with key external stakeholders, positioning WeFlex as an innovator in the financial domain of the automotive industry.
  • Continuously monitor industry trends and regulatory landscapes to pre-emptively adapt and comply with changing market dynamics.
  • Champion continuous improvement, advocating for process optimisation and automation that leads to enhanced efficiency and accuracy.
