Fixed-term until 30 November 2025, Full-time

A postdoctoral Research Scientist opportunity has arisen to investigate - in a collaborative project with a group in Switzerland (EPFL Lausanne)- how organelle networks influence transcriptional programs during adipocyte differentiation and how organelle metabolism defines overall cellular states in the Klemm Lab.

The post holder's duties will include:

  • Managing your own academic research and administrative activities
  • Adapting existing and developing new scientific techniques
  • Testing hypotheses and analysing scientific data
  • Contributing ideas for new research projects
  • Collaborating in the preparation of scientific reports
  • Acting as a source of information to other members of the group

Applicants must hold, or be close to completion of, a PhD/DPhil Molecular Life Sciences such as Molecular Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Physiology or Pharmacology together with relevant experience before taking up the appointment. The research requires established skills in tissue culture and previous working experience in differentiation, organelle biology, imaging and metabolism as well as transcriptomics would be desirable.

The fixed term post is currently available and will be based in The Department of Physiology Anatomy & Genetics, Sherrington Building, Sherrington Rd, Oxford OX1 3PT

Informal enquiries may be directed to the DPAG HR Team –

The closing date for applications is midday on 19 July 2024 and interviews are likely to be held on the week commencing 29 July 2024
