QUANTITY SURVEYOR

Full Time Quantity Surveyor position in Manchester

Salary is between £35-£55k (DOE)

We are looking for a forward thinking, organised, motivated individual to join our client's busy Quantity Surveying department in Manchester. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial success of construction projects. Your expertise in cost control will contribute to the overall efficiency and profitability of the projects. If you are detail-oriented, analytical, and have a strong understanding of construction processes, we encourage you to apply.

The role will involve Financial Management of contracts in the residential & commercial sector. Including:


• Subcontractor Labour Payments


• External monthly valuations & monitoring of outstanding monies


• Ordering Materials


• Managing Variations


• Remeasurement of Works


• Tendering

Candidates must have the following experience and skills:


• Minimum HNC/HND in a Quantity Surveying related course.


• At least 2 years' UK experience.


• Good computer literacy including Excel & cloud based contractor specific applications.


• Good communication & teamworking skills

Duties to include:

Preparing cost estimates and budgets for construction projects.

Conducting feasibility studies and cost analysis.

Performing quantity take-offs and prepare bills of quantities.

Evaluating tenders and negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors

Monitoring project costs and provide regular cost reports to management

Identifying cost-saving opportunities and recommend value engineering options

Reviewing and assess variations and change orders

Collaborating with project teams to ensure cost control measures are implemented effectively

Please note that this job description is not exhaustive and additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Role will be office based with visits to site as and when required.
