Meols Cop High School is seeking to appoint an inspirational and highly motivated Geography teacher to join us from September 2024. We are keen to hear from candidates who are exceptional and innovative classroom practitioners.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting us to maintain and drive the culture amongst our staff and students to achieve our vision of 'Brokering Aspirations'.

Our Geography curriculum and our Geography teachers are absolutely central to our vision to Broker Aspirations – with a brilliantly sequenced curriculum, rich in powerful knowledge and experiences. We intend to inspire our young people through their learning in Geography, ensuring they develop the knowledge, skills and values that will open doors for their futures. Student at Meols Cop access a huge range of wider opportunities to develop as Geographers, through our Eco Club, MC Trekkers, extra-curricular trips to Iceland and links with Edge Hill University, highlighting our whole school vision to empower students.

As a Research School, the successful candidate will be joining a staff team that is extremely committed and skilled in developing their practice. Staff are empowered to undertake their own action research projects with a clear strategic approach.

The school is committed to promoting the safeguarding and welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment; therefore a satisfactory enhanced DBS is required for this post.

The post is registered as exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
