Key Responsibilities:

  • The main purpose of this role is to assist in providing tax advice to a portfolio of owner-managed and large corporate clients. This includes a focus on advising on the tax implications of corporate restructurings and business acquisitions and sales.
  • This role offers a fantastic opportunity to join a developing Business Tax advisory team, specializing in restructuring tax, and to bring significant value to our clients through the provision of technically sound and commercially relevant tax advice on a variety of complex and exciting transactions.
  • Leading tax advisory projects, including client correspondence, participation in client meetings, and overseeing projects from inception to completion.
  • Supervising, coordinating, and reviewing the preparation of tax structuring and other technical tax advice, HMRC clearance applications, and project-related administration and reporting for a range of intricate group reorganizations, demergers, and other corporate transactions.
  • Overseeing, coordinating, and reviewing tax due diligence reports, managing communications with clients and relevant third parties, and advising on tax risk mitigation strategies.
  • Undertaking, reviewing, and delivering research and potential solutions on complex technical issues.
  • Contributing actively to the development of team members, including delegating tasks and assisting junior colleagues in preparing advice.
  • Playing a key role in the firm's business development efforts, including networking and online marketing activities.
  • Managing client engagement, proposals, and onboarding processes.
  • Identifying opportunities for planning, risk mitigation, and cross-referrals between service lines to ensure clients receive efficient and proactive service.
  • Providing assistance to partners and relationship managers on other client matters or opportunities as needed.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Hold a tax-specific qualification (ACA / ACCA / CTA or equivalent).
  • Previous experience in advising on tax implications and managing HMRC clearance applications for corporate transactions.
  • Strong report writing skills, with practical experience preferred.
  • Experience in overseeing and reviewing tax advisory projects, transitioning into a managerial role considered.
  • Understanding of relevant practical and business tax considerations, especially in corporate restructurings.
  • Awareness of indirect tax aspects would be beneficial.
  • Familiarity with UK-focused projects, international experience a plus.
  • General accountancy knowledge or background required.
  • Willingness to travel between Leatherhead, London, and Egham offices.
