Job Title: Commercial Analyst

Line Manager: Head of Commercial Finance

Role Summary

The Commercial Analyst will bridge the gap between Finance and store management, undertaking regular store visits to ensure compliance with finance processes and deliver training as required. They will oversea the store P&Ls to ensure accuracy at a store level, and take ownership of key P&L areas, ensuring budgets are adhered to and variances are understood.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out regular site visits across the estate to ensure all stores are operating effectively and in line with finance procedures.
  • To deliver training to management as and when required to equip the store managers with the knowledge and skills to succeed from a finance perspective.
  • Review the store P&Ls on a monthly basis for inconsistencies and opportunities.
  • Be the key point of contact for store P&L queries.
  • Review of store labour against budget and expectations.
  • Monitor spend in stores for reactive and planned maintenance, alongside the property team, challenging the property team to deliver costs in line with budget.
  • Monitor the cash losses within stores, investigating any large cash differences and escalating as required.
  • Calculation of store bonuses on a quarterly basis.
  • Maintenance of balance sheet reconciliations and review of reconciliations prepared by CFO.
    • Ad hoc reporting for the finance team.
    • Supporting the Head of Commercial Finance and Finance Director with budgeting and reforecasting.
