Catering Supervisor

We are looking to recruit a Catering Supervisor to join our small team of Kitchen Staff, at Chancel Primary School. As a Catering Supervisor you will be responsible for running a school kitchen; including preparing, cooking and serving school meals. This is a wonderful opportunity for someone with the right skills and experience to join our school.

This role is for 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday during term time. £25,119.00 FTE to start as soon as possible.

What you'll do:

  • Design and create termly menus that meet the stringent requirements of School Food Standards, whilst encouraging children to order a school lunch
  • Prepare, cook and serve food and drink in a hygienic and safe manner, following assigned processes and procedures at all times
  • Providing a positive dining experience for our children, promoting healthy eating, whilst enjoying exciting and inspiring menu items
  • Plan and prepare food for 'special events' including Census Days, Open Evenings and Governor Meetings
  • Monitoring the quality of the food and service provided, achieving good quality product and service on time and within budget
  • Be punctual with your time-keeping; operating a quick and efficient catering service without compromising on quality of the service delivered
  • Monitor and advise on stock usage; rotating stock, ensuring food stocks don't run out and ordering stock as required
  • Ensure that catering preparation, service and storage areas are kept in a hygienic, clean, tidy and safe condition at all times – meeting Food Safety Standards
  • Take the lead in running our kitchen, including managing a small team of staff

    Requirements

    Catering / Kitchen experience for high volumes is required for this role and experience in team leading and/or a supervisory position would be advantageous

    You should also have a Level 2 (or higher) Food certification and a strong knowledge of allergen awareness
