Outwood Academy Riverside is an 11–16 provision which opened in September 2020 as part of the Free Schools Programme. We are recruiting exceptional individuals who will join our family here at Riverside. This is an incredibly exciting and unique opportunity.

We are looking for an exceptional candidate to provide efficient and effective support to the Principal and act as a member of the academy's Senior Leadership Team. In addition, the post holder will assume the responsibility of Office Manager, line managing the academy's Reception/Admin function. As Clerk to the Academy Council, the post holder will clerk all meetings and provide administrative support on behalf of the Chair.

The successful candidate will come from an administrative background. Previous experience of leading and motivating staff and providing clear vision and direction would be desirable, though support will be provided. Strong written and verbal communication skills with an ability to gain credibility at all levels are essential. Well-developed ICT skills and an understanding and ability to maintain confidentiality will be vital to the role. Owing to the nature of the post, candidates should be flexible and appreciate attendance at evening meetings.

The academy benefits from being part of the Outwood Family of Schools, and we intend that every member of staff receives CPD appropriate to the role.

Outwood Academy Riverside is currently at Russell Street, Middlesbrough. A new, state-of-the-art school will be built on Pioneering Way, adjacent to Middlesbrough College. In the interim, as the school grows, we will have a satellite site in Eston opening in September 2024. It is expected that appointed staff may also be deployed to work at that site. There is not a vast distance between the two sites, and it will be a 'mirror image' of everything Riverside is about.
