Senior Lecturer in Forensic Psychology

Kingston upon Thames, Greater London, United Kingdom Kingston University Full time

This is a career-defining opportunity at the heart of a dynamic psychology department where Forensic Psychology has a high profile with both our BSc and MSc BPS accredited courses.

Taking responsibility for a subject area or range of modules which include Introduction to Forensic Psychology, Forensic Mental Health and Criminal Behaviours, The Psychology of Investigations and Cyber-Behaviour, Investigative and Legal Processes in Forensic Psychology you'll co-ordinate a team of talented lecturers to deliver the vibrant, real-world education your students deserve. A natural leader and clear communicator you will also plan, deliver, and assess a range of modules at UG and PG, using a variety of technologies and approaches.

Research is, naturally, a key part of our make-up and you will supervise research students and dissertation students and undertake your own research challenges, seeing projects through their entire lifecycle - from developing proposals to producing outputs ripe for publication. You will benefit from membership of the Forensic Psychology Research Group, working with colleagues who regularly publish high quality internationally excellent research and have gained funding from both internal and external funding bodies.

The Person
You will hold a PhD in the field of Forensic Psychology and/or Professional Doctorate in Forensic Psychology and bring with you a recognised teaching or learning qualification. If you haven't already achieved the relevant level of UKPSF recognition, we'll need you to do so before the end of your probation period. You will have experience of teaching Forensic Psychology and at PG and UG and ideally have experience of course leadership of a BPS accredited programme.

Constantly seeking to improve, you'll scrutinise your own work, build private and public sector networks, and work collaboratively to enhance the faculty's reputation in higher education and occupational circles.

School of Law, Social and Behavioural Sciences
The School of Law, Social and Behavioural Sciences offers a range of courses in politics, economics, human rights, international relations, law, psychology and criminology. Students graduate equipped with the theoretical tools, hands-on experience and critical thinking necessary to understand individual and social group behaviour, problem solve and influence the future. Professional bodies, including the British Psychological Society (BPS) recognise and accredit our courses.

Further Information
This is a full-time, permanent position with a starting salary of £48,251 per annum.

Deadline for applications: 23rd June 2024.

Interviews are expected to be held Friday 5th July 2024.

For informal enquiries please contact Professor Rachel Wilcock.

£48,251 to £57,061 per annum
