Edinburgh, Edinburgh, United Kingdom NHS Tayside Full time

A current NMC and diving licence is essential to do this job.

We invite applications for a Specialist Nurse Practitioner (or an NMC registrant with community nursing experience ready to commence Specialist Practitioner training) to join The Rhins Home Team based in Stranraer.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and forward thinking nurse who wishes to be part of Scottish Government transforming community nursing roles and to further progress their career and personal and professional development.
Must be educated to degree level.
The Community Nursing Team consists of HCSW's, RN's and an ANP and the post holder will have some leadership responsibility as well as full caseload management and service development including quality assurance.
This service is 24/7 with night covered by HCSW and Staff Nurse, with the expectation that, in exceptional occasions the post holder may be required to cover nights.
Normal shifts for the post holder will be core 7.5 hour shifts.
The Rhins Home Team covers Stranraer as well as a rural area covering small villages and isolated homes so lone working is the norm.
The Home Teams Model is in its still in its early stages but the post holder will be central to the new model of working within a multi disciplinary team under the leadership of a Home Team Lead.

If you would like any further information about this role then please contact
: Home Team Lead

Under Equality Legislation we can only state that a driving licence is required if a post is a 'driving job - eg Driver.

Following discussions, we can now routinely use the following text in adverts where a post holder would be expected to drive.

This post may involve clinic and home visits in remote and rural areas therefore a current driving licence is an essential requirement of this post. However, if you have a disability which precludes you from holding a driving licence, consideration will be given if alternative transport can be arranged.

Recruitment have also set up an assessment question option (wording below) which managers can request be added to the Jobtrain application form for candidates to answer when completing their application. This would ensure that the advert wording hadn't been missed by a candidate and provide shortlisters with the information they need to consider an application. The assessment form requires candidates to answer this specific question before continuing their application:

Assessment form title - NHS D&G - Query regarding driving in rural and remote areas

This post may involve clinic and home visits in remote and rural areas. A current driving licence is an essential requirement of this post. However, if you have a disability which precludes you from holding a driving licence consideration will be given if alternative transport can be arranged.
