About the role

The paralegal will be an outcome-driven individual who is expected to support the creation and ongoing maintenance and improvement of products and services, including legal content development. We build world-class services for our customers (including individuals, landlords, and SMEs) and it's vital that our products are delivered with quality and accuracy.

You will help research, draft and create legal and business documents and guidance and help to prepare these for the Rocket Lawyer platform. You will also assist with the ongoing maintenance and development of existing documents and guidance. This work will cover diverse areas of law, including commercial, family and personal, employment, property, intellectual property, and more.

You will also help with marketing tasks, including tracking legal and business trends, developing legal content for social media, and working with Rocket Lawyer customers to learn how their businesses use Rocket Lawyer.

What you will do
  • Carry out research to help define, develop or maintain our content (eg legal and business documents and guides).
  • Draft legal and marketing content, whether for products and services, documents, guidance, articles or other materials.
  • Build clearly articulated, easy-to-use and easy-to-understand decision flows to help make sense of how legal documents are constructed for customer use.
  • Maintain awareness of continuous content development of our products and services.
  • Monitor legal and business trends in social and mainstream media and help to promote Rocket Lawyer content in response to this.
  • Assist with the development of social media assets and strategies for promoting our legal and business content.
  • Define processes and document all processes you undertake. You will be taught to use our performance metrics to understand our business' performance and will take ownership of these.
  • Proactively take responsibility for self-improvement by staying well informed of developments, knowledge and innovations that affect both the legal sector and other businesses.
  • Proactively identify areas of personal improvement and work with your manager to strengthen your skills.
  • Build an understanding of SEO and content marketing.
You need to have the following

a suitable alternative that you can explain the value and appropriateness of:

  • A 2:1 in Law, Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL), or equivalent qualification (if you have a 2:2 and mitigating circumstances that affected your grades, please let us know).
  • Excellent writing skills and high proficiency in legal research.
  • Excellent research skills.
  • An understanding of how the law works and develops (eg how case law and legislation change the law).
  • Familiarity with legal contracts and how they work (you need not be an expert drafter, but a foundational understanding is necessary).

  • A natural problem solver.
  • A team player and proactive communicator.
It would be great if you also
  • Have experience working in a law firm, in-house legal team, legal marketing, or legal tech.
  • Have experience or at least an enthusiasm for working in a hybrid working environment.
  • Are interested in social media marketing and/or other marketing channels.
