Job Description

To assist with the delivery of a high quality, efficient and effective Professional Quantity Surveying Practice as directed by the Principal Quantity Surveyor/Quantity Surveyor all in accordance with the needs and priorities of the Council, relative to work commissions for internal and external Clients.

Requirements

To assist the Principal Quantity Surveyor in all aspects of administration of the Quantity Surveying Practice.

To perform all tasks relative to a Quantity Surveying Technician and assist with cost aspects of allocated projects from inception to completion.

To ensure the timeous provision of appropriate information to the Principal Quantity Surveyor.

To assist with Best Value' issues relating to the Quantity Surveying Practice.

To assist with planning and programming of Capital and Revenue Works as requested, for all Clients.

The Individual

Experience in a Professional Quantity Surveying Practice.

Appropriate Technical qualifications to HNC/HND or equivalent level in Quantity Surveying.

Willingness to work in a demanding position where a flexible approach is required.

Ability to accept delegation.

Good organisational skills.

Knowledge of policies, issues, procedures and practices, relating to the delivery of a Quantity Surveying Service.

Good analytical and numerical skills.

IT skills.

Full Driving Licence.

Good communication skills (both oral and written).

Good negotiation skills.

Ability to relate well to colleagues, Elected Members and the public.

General level of fitness for on site activities associated with construction sites.

Starting salary: £32,176.95 per annum

£17.07 per hour

36.25 hours per week
