This leading, national law firm is currently looking to hire a Head of Department for its Court of Protection department. This firm has offices across the North and will require visits to all locations but can be based on a hybrid basis out of the Leeds office. This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Court of Protection Solicitor to lead and develop a well-established Court of Protection and Private Client team, delivering the plans and strategies for the department.

You will need to have the required skills and experience to be appointed as a Director of the Trust Corporation and be a qualified Solicitor, along with experience of successfully leading a Court of Protection Team and running a wide variety of Deputyship and Trust matters.

Main Responsibilities for the role:Ensure that the team achieves their agreed performance targets by using consistent and clear leadership in the management of individuals KPIsEnsure the management of all client cases, in compliance with relevant external supervision requirementsProvide inspirational leadership to the Court of Protection & Private Client team including recruitment, motivation, training and supporting of team members as requiredImplement and monitor departmental plans Support the budgeting process for Court of Protection & Private ClientLead the Court of Protection & Private Client department directly managing the departments operational needs working with our cost and finances team to manage all key reporting metricsCoach, develop and support managers to achieve excellent people leadership practiceTo run a reduced load of circa. 25% of a full capacity numbers varying in value and technicalityDealing with all aspects of the lifecycle of the trust and deputyship matters
