Purpose of Role:

This position presents an excellent opportunity for a first class qualified accountant to join our Group Finance function and further their career within a FTSE 100 public limited company.

In Group Finance we are responsible for the consolidated internal management reporting to the Group Executive and Board, incorporating monthly management reports, forecast, budget and strategic plan. In terms of external reporting we are responsible for all financial aspects of the Group Annual Report, Interim statement and quarterly IMSs, alongside subsidiary statutory accounts. We also manage the Group external audit engagement and reporting to the Audit Committee. As a team we work closely with the Group's divisional and local entity finance teams, setting accounting policy and governance standards. We also work closely with colleagues from across the Group on various project activity, including sustainability, mergers and acquisitions, corporate structuring and financing.

Key

Responsibilities:
  • Preparation, review and analysis of management reporting to support our Group consolidated results at month end, forecast and budget.
  • Involvement in the preparation and review of external reporting and analysis for our Group Annual Report, Interim Statement and Subsidiary Statutory Accounts.
  • Contribute to maintaining and improving a strong governance environment for all financial reporting across the Group.
  • Collaborate effectively with finance teams across the Group on reporting, and other departments including legal, tax, company secretarial and corporate development on ad hoc projects.
    Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:
    • CA/ACA/CIMA qualified with three to five years post-qualification experience with a strong understanding of IFRS and UK GAAP.
    • Experience of management reporting, Group statutory reporting and subsidiary statutory accounts, preferably with a FTSE350 entity with multiple currencies.
    • Able to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills when interfacing with senior management and an ability to work to a high level of accuracy, displaying attention to detail and the ability to conduct critical self-review.
