We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Science Technician who can play an active role in contributing to the already high standards within this team, contributing and coordinating the use of resources and facilities for the Science Department.
The Science Department at The Skinners' Kent Academy is supported by a busy technician team comprising 3 technicians working across all three disciplines for KS3, KS4 and KS5. The role includes fulfilling requisitioned lessons as dictated by our schemes of work using the online Bunsen Education requisition app. We regularly research and trial ideas for new practicals as additional resources or as a means to improving existing lessons. Health and safety is paramount in our department and we use Cleapss as our advisory body. We work closely with the Science teachers creating a friendly and cooperative environment and we look forward to welcoming an additional technician to the team.
Job Purpose: Under the overall direction of the Head of Science and Senior Science Technician to co-ordinate the use of practical and facilities within the Science Department.
