About the role
We are looking for experienced Multi Skilled Operative to join our repairs and maintenance team in Eastbourne/Lewes . Working with home first on a variety of residential works, working in occupied, void properties and communal areas, our team produce work to the highest standards and deliver outstanding customer service.
Duties;
As a multi-skilled operative carrying a broad range of property repairs , the role typically involves a variety of tasks extending from changing a lock, right up to extensive kitchen and bathroom alterations. Here are some key duties based on job listings and descriptions:
- Installation Expertise: Install all necessary components in a bathroom or kitchen environment, including sanitary ware, kitchen units, 1st fix pipework, flooring, boarding, dry lining and 2nd fixing.
- Plumbing and Tiling: Perform skilled tasks such as installing sinks, laundry appliances, sanitaryware, and level access wet-rooms, aqua panels and tiling
- Maintenance and Repairs: Repair leaks, replace bathroom and kitchen taps, mixer showers, and carpentry, door and window repairs.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure that all installations meet the required quality standards and comply with relevant regulations
- Customer Service: Maintain effective communication with clients to understand their requirements and ensure customer satisfaction
- Teamwork: Work well both unsupervised and as part of a team, demonstrating reliability and a proactive approach
- Health and Safety: Adhere to health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for oneself and others
These responsibilities highlight the need for versatility and a comprehensive skill set for a multi-skilled operative in the field of full scale property maintenance. It's a role that combines technical knowledge with practical skills and customer service

Role Criteria;
Core Trade Qualification in Carpentry:A qualification such as a Level 3 Diploma in Site Carpentry or Bench Joinery
Other Trade Experience: in plumbing, plastering, and tiling can be gained through additional courses or on-the-job training.
Desirable:
The ability to carry out small plasterwork repairs to a good standard finish
Working at Heights & Manual Handling: able to work at heights and to transporting or supporting a load by hand or bodily force, including lifting, putting down, pushing, pulling, carrying, or moving loads
Customer Service & Communication Skills: Good customer service and communication skills are essential, often developed through experience.
Hand Tools & Driving Licence: Providing your own hand tools and having a full UK driving licence are requirements for these roles.
