- How do you prioritise your work and manage your diary
- How have you dealt with disagreements with professionals .i.e. during care planning
- You will be responsible for cases going to court. How did you challenge and what skills used
- Explain what makes a good Child Protection plan
- Describe how would you include the children to support CP plans
- How would you engage parents who are particularly challenging & include wider family
- Why have you selected a career in social work?
- How do you handle high-pressure situations?

- What types of strategies do you use to engage clients?
- Which pieces of legislation do you think are important for the role?
- What do you know about our local authority?
- How would you prioritise your caseload?
- How do you separate your work and personal life?
- Be presentable – even if it's a Teams interview, look professional.
- Give examples to support your answers – examples of good practice, difficult cases, managing conflict or supporting junior staff are always well received.
- Sell yourself – you know your capabilities better than anyone else, don't be afraid to highlight your skills and abilities.
- Ask questions – you want to know that this is right for you, as much as they're wanting to know that you're the right fit for them. Think about good and bad experiences you've had in work previously, look for signs that this is right for you.
