Overview of the role

We are currently seeking an Accounts Payable & Banking Assistant to join our Accounts team at our HQ in Newry, Northern Ireland.

Responsibilities

The Accounting Assistant is responsible for performing a wide variety of accounting tasks which will include, but is not limited to, the following:
  • Process received invoices daily for multiple entities.
  • Supplier reconciliations.
  • Preform Monthly Creditor runs for multiple entities.
  • Allocating bank payments to purchase invoices and updating the AP ledger.
  • Reconciliation of bank accounts in a variety of currencies.
  • Assist with month end tasks and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Assist the Entity accountants.
  • Review financial information with the intention of proactively identifying any issues and taking corrective action.
  • Taking ownership under the guidance of department head of ad hoc projects designed to promote process improvement.
  • Perform Ad Hoc tasks as requested by Department head.
    The Candidate
    • 2+ years' experience in a finance role.
    • Desirable: Accounting/Bookkeeping qualification or relevant degree.
    • Excellent organisational skills, solution focused and proactive.
    • Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP's & Pivot Tables). Training will be provided.
    • Experience of using an accounting package.
    • Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
    • Interest in building a career down the accounting path.
    • Oracle experience preferable but not essential.
      Location

      This opportunity is a FTC for 9 Months and will be based in our Newry HQ & will offer a Hybrid working environment.
