The Wessex Inspiration Network (WIN) is one of the UniConnect consortia being funded by the Office for Students (OfS) to increase progression of under-represented students to higher education. The focus is in areas where fewer than average numbers of qualified young people continue to further study. The WIN works across Bath & Northeast Somerset, North Somerset & Wiltshire. The WIN is led by the University of Bath but has members from across HE, FE, schools and local employers.
As the WIN Engagement Officer you will be the lead for the Outreach Hub which is a 'single point of contact' for schools in the region. Working closely with your counterpart who leads the hub in North Somerset you will lead the collation of activities across Bath & Wiltshire ensuring schools and colleges across the regions understand what is on offer to them.
About you
The successful candidate will be a personable, driven, and passionate person who can create and maintain strong relationships with people at all levels across different types of organisations. You'll understand the UK education system and as a self-starter you'll be keen to make a difference in the local education sector. You'll have a can-do attitude and you'll be resilient and tenacious when developing relationships. You'll be able to see the bigger picture across the region and be able to understand how different organisations can 'fit' into the solutions for educational challenges across the region.
Alongside understanding & sharing activity already on offer in the region you will identify areas of need and create relationships with organisations, local authorities, charities and HE and FE providers across the region. You will create spaces where parties can come together to identify the educational challenges in the region and then begin to facilitate solutions. Spaces might be individual or small meetings or organising a conference style events for multiple partners. Solutions may be as simple as ensuring the right people are connected or it might be working with partners to create a solution.

This is a full-time role, working 36.5 hours per week, for a fixed-term period until July 2025 with the potential of extension based upon future funding from the Office for Students.
An enhanced Disclosure & Barring Services (DBS) check is required for this role.
